Mask Making: A Journey into the Mystery of Self

A One Day Workshop With Emily Hanlon
Saturday, April 14 9:30-5:00
Sunday, April 15, 1-5

The ProcessMask making workshop, an inner journey workshop

In preparing for incorporating mask making into my workshops, I invited Val Huyghue to help me. We have taken quite a journey opening to the technicalities of mask making as well as the emotional and spiritual dimensions. We had to open and allow the process to work through us before we could receive the mysterious gifts of the the mask. It is an endlessly fascinating and surprising process.

The Different Faces of the Mask

We will be making our masks as part of the inner journey of discovery, and we can try but we cannot really anticipate the mask that wants to be revealed at any particular moment. Val and I often think we know the mask we are going to make, but more often than not, we are surprised.

On this journey we discover the mask is a portal to different parts of Self. Sometimes it is a part we are ready to relinquish; other times is a part of Self waiting to be revealed. We can also make a mask to mark a birth or death, a new year, a new season. We can make them for the simple joy of the process.

There are no limits to the forms masks can take. I invite you to join us on this journey.
As we open to deeper parts of self, we gift ourselves and the other with whom we are working
