Writing, Creativity & Ritual: The Joy, Passion & Inspiration of Creativity

Essence of the Retreat, Writing, Creativity and Ritual, A Retreat for Women

The essence of the retreat is you, the you who flows from the well of your creativity, who dances with your Inner Writer, and joyfully gives her the lead. This you is fearless, alive in both the light and dark of life; she speaks the language of dreams and soul.

I have been leading Writing, Creativity and Ritual Retreats for twelve years, and I have experienced this creative you, unfettered by the Inner Critic, being born at every retreat. The secret lies in the magical mix of writing, creativity and ritual that forms the weave of the retreat. As we weave, so we are woven; our writing flows effortlessly, and our creativity becomes the doorway to an experience of Self and one's creativity that is beyond the mind’s horizon.

"The retreat is the first time I've really distanced myself from the outside world, and the first time in four years I have not checked in with work while away. I have connected with my higher self, listened to a deeper, wiser voice within. And this is the first time I've written any non-poetic words ever! The strength of our circle and the sharing was amazing.." ~Heather Mickley

Writing, Creativity & Ritual, the Weave of the Retreat
Writing: We gather each day to write and share. Writing includes everything from journaling to fiction and poetry. One very exciting and fascinating writing experience in Glastonbury is to call forth a character from the land's mysterious and tumultuous past to write his or her story. This and much more! All levels of writers are welcomed. You don't need to be a writer to participate. Writers, artists, singers, dancers.... we all dance the creative dance and speak its language.

Creativity: We explore the creative process through guided imagery, music, and many other techniques I have developed to both further your stories and access the passion of the creative unconscious.

Ritual: Ritual is both a deeply personal and a communal experience that connects the individual to something greater than self. I cannot imagine a more fertile place than Glastonbury to infuse and deepen our connection to the creative unconscious and to make the intangible tangible.
