The Mentoring Program is about opening the channel to our
deep inner voice so that we can hear the song of the soul, and about
learning to honor the gifts this brings. Creativity is the key. Through
a variety of means, some known, some we will discover along the way,
we journey to the moment of unending love when, as as Derek Walcott
so magnificently writes: "you will greet yourself arriving at
your own door..."
Love
After Love
by
Derek Walcott
The
time will come, when,
with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door,
in your own mirror.
And each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, "Sit here, Eat. Relax."
You will love again this stranger
who is your Self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give
back your heart,
to itself,
to this stranger who has loved you
all your life,
whom you ignored for another,
but who knows you by heart. |

How the Mentoring Program Works
"I began Emily's Mentoring Program with a massive case of writer's block and an unrelenting internal critic that became especially loud and harsh whenever I successfully wrote more than three pages. Emily, however, has a gift. She knows writers and she knows their inner critics. It took several sessions of fits and starts but she eventually helped me see how I empowered a fierce inner critic. She showed me how to take the drama out of its voice and how to make it a small, infinitesimal whisper. I'm now two hundred and sixty pages into a rough draft because she also helped me find the courage to fall down the rabbit hole and to be nonchalant about the creative chaos that a rough draft entails. If you want to write, you need to talk to Emily."
