This is a technique that I have developed over my thirty years of teaching fiction writing and the memoir. It is an endlessly fascinating way to develop characters. You will be amazed at how quickly most characters emerge with his or her distinct voice when interviewed. Why? Your characters want to talk!
I have interviewed countless characters for countless writers both in person and on the phone. We begin by guiding into your character so that you feel the character living and breathing. Then I begin chatting with the character, the interview begins. You might feel a bit uncomfortable at the beginning but that discomfort quickly passes. Everyone, without exception, has ended up not only having fun on the interview but also uncovering massive amounts of character and story line.
You can come with a character or characters with whom you are already working. Or perhaps you are in search of a new character!
One hour session: $100, includes a recording of the interview for download. If you want a CD of the interview mailed to you, there is an additional $20 fee.
