The She I am Becoming

by Lisa Calhoon

I am the she you are becoming.
I come to you from the mysterious spaces.
I am rising up from inside of you enveloping you
in the mist of my being. Strong, confident,
I am able to go forward with my head held high.
Going forth in the knowledge that I can do anything.
I want you to walk beside me with no fear.
Secure in the knowledge of who you are
and where you came from. No hiding,
no apologizing, don't hang your head in shame.
Your experiences have made you who you are.
Wear them like a crown.
I will walk beside you, leading you
into a future that holds so much.
You have seen glimpses of me,
I have begun to show myself and you like what you see.
Keep moving toward me, with me,
become me and I will be with you always.

The Mystery of Me

by Louise Easton

The mystery of who I am becoming has brought me back to who I am!

The circle surrounding the real me, once small and centered,
then expanded and opened to greater horizons,
has become frayed at the edges from too much stretching....
from too much weight of going round and round
until the outer edge finally turns inward,
like a labrinyth I then find myself back
to the center, which is me,
which can now open myself up
to the outside
without having to step away
from the center, whose foot is grounded into the self.

A call back!

Look at me Louise,
find me,
do not hide from me
as you have been doing for so long.

I am not to be feared or shunned,
but to be embraced like a lover.

Have you not ever played hide and seek?
See you no longer remember scampering for a hiding place
to be alone,
even for only a few minutes,
to feel the pounding of exhilaration
as you cleverly, oh so cleverly, nestle yourself
in a place so foreign no on could find you – intrude on you!

You outdid them, until you, yourself are ready,
and then they will find you.
What joy!
How you laugh at the thought of exposing yourself,
of falling into the arms of protectors.
Welcome them back!
Allow them to breath life in and with you.
See the joy in their eyes,
the dancing light leading you away,
to separate again, but in this time
and place at a new starting point –
a new day to play and relish another game of hide and seek.

She Who I Am Becoming

by Doris Russell

she who you are becoming is a listener -

i become a listener in my daily life with my family and
co workers.
i become a listener to my thoughts
i become a listener to things forgotten
i become a listener to things that seem like a paradox

i become a listener to the trees, rocks and wind
or a tree, rock or leaf.

i listen to the flowers
i listen to the kids
i listen
i hear what i hear and i hear some things that i don't hear

i wonder a lot too
i wonder about the past and
i wonder about the future

does what i do today effect the past
My prayers of 1-30-07 - are they going to
effect my day of 1-25-07?
What I am doing today does that effect yesterday?
I think it does.
How? I don't know,
but I think it has something to do with relativity.

love me.

Invoking The Mystery

This piece by Audrey Larkin as well as the two that follow were written at a recent Sunday Creativity Circle in which we explored "The Mystery of Self" and the "She I am Becoming"

Please feel free to add your own writings on the comment link below or email them to me at emily@emilyhanlon.com and I will post them here.

From Audrey Larkin

The Mystery of “Myself” is indeed a mystery; one that I am just beginning to work on and try to figure out. I would say “to solve” but that would be too final, and final is not necessarily the answer, except maybe in things like math. But since I’m talking about my “self” my inner person, there is no finite to that or at least I don’t think there is. What am I deep inside that people or even I don’t see? I’m not really sure but I think one part of my “self” at least is one very warm, caring, giving, loving, Huge heart.

The She I Am Becoming

She I am Becoming,
by Audrey Larkin

“Hello Audrey, or should I call you ‘Dreamer’?” I am “she” a future part of you… I want you to know I think you are “A-OK”! That’s number one. You have a lot to look forward too, much more than you’ll ever know or “Dream” of.

~Remember~ I “she” am your future… and I love to wear flowing things especially when I dance among the flowing waterfalls with the beautiful, colorful rainbows up above. There are many singing birds that fly around to the same music that I dance to… It’s quite beautiful. I have an adorable little hut and I live near a pond these waterfalls flow into. It’s quite cozy, my little hut; with a fire place, a small kitchen, and everything I need to live comfortably. I have my little area where I can sit and read or write. The lighting is just so. There is also and area where I can dabble in my painting if I so choose to. It’s really quite lovely and I enjoy it very much.

I have enough room for friends to come and join me if I choose to. The list goes on. Most of all Audrey, I am free to laugh as loud and hard as I choose to. Only the forest and those in my close circle of friends can hear me and all of them will join me in this wonderful road that never needs to end.

The Mystery of Self

by Celeste Regal

I have always known myself. I have never known myself.

The mysterious thing of consciousness is the most intriguing topic.
Who are we, why are we. Full of matter and jurisprudence. Full of spirit and mystical delight.

The mystery is everything. It is where we begin and end. All notions of art are wedged in the uneven spaces of mystery. It echoes through time, while being timeless. Searching for the answer is our reason for living. We weep over the mystery as often as we revel in its joyous human equation.

Into the night the ghosts of ourselves, our deepness tramples over our days. There is no end to it. Creative, electric, we all know at least a little about the sweet vagaries of mystery, the eternal something.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
from Emily: In a recent Creativity Circle we explored "The Mystery of Self." We explored mystery and spirituality and then moved on to write about the self that who we are becoming.

Write about Mystery and Self and post it here as a comment or email it to me and I will post it on the blog.
