Limiting Beliefs About Your Creativity
What does creativity mean to you?
How do you express your creativity?
What limiting beliefs do you have about yourself as a creative person?
Which of these limiting beliefs can you feel slipping away?
Which seem impossible to let go?
Close you eyes and ask for an image of what your life would look like if you let go of all your limiting beliefs??

Hi Emily,
Don't know if I am doing this the right way but here goes. Creativity means original ideas, enhancing on ideas already in place.
I express my creativity in my work, and in learning new things.
A limiting belief is I think I can improve on my work that I do for a living, but I hold back on my writing which I don't do for a living.
The fact that I'm sitting here doing this may be a slipping away of a limiting belief.
Another limiting belief I just don't think that I am a creative person - well, that is not exactly true - I do have some originating ideas sometimes, but not all the times.
Like for example my married name is gonzalez and I had brought my car in to be fixed, and I came to pick it up and there was a young black man in back of the counter and he said, "Rodriguez, right?"
And I said, "no, it's Gonzalez, but it doesn't matter we all look alike anyway."
To me that is an originating thought and it went over well, everyone in the garage stopped doing what they were doing for a split second and tuned into the conversation.
What seems impossible to do is to let go and that I can just do this.
If I could let get go of my limiting beliefs I'd be writing what I want to say, and not worry about the fallout.
I'd be reading. Sitting at my computer typing god knows what. I'd be tuned into my source most of the time, - I didn't say all of the time - but the majority of the time.
And there is something I don't understand --the old old old old writers used to improve on the writings of those that came before them, but today that is looked upon as plagerism - think I spelled that right.
well -this has been interesting.
good night. doris
A limiting belief is that I am not creative enough to create a good work of fiction. I am in a mystery analysis group -- and in analyzing other authors I am becoming so blown away by their creativity that I wonder if I can produce something 1/2 as good. And even without this belief, everytime I read what I've written, I hear voices saying I written drecht. So I keep on writing -- but how to overcome is a problem.
